My passion for photography has always been a part of me. Considering the peculiarities of my surroundings, it's an unusual passion. It's hard to imagine people more distant from the world of art than my parents.
Life brings its surprises. After finishing high school, ironically, I found myself in the world of theater. Several years later, I was already studying at the directing faculty at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute. Though I have never become a theater director, the studies proved invaluable to my journey as a photographer. Our teachers taught us to be attentive observers, to find the extraordinary in the ordinary, and to create using minimal expressive means. These skills allow me to reveal the beauty of the simplicity of everyday scenes and to notice things that are transparent to others.
The passion to photography became my way of life and a means of self-expression. I don't limit myself to any specific style or genre; I love to experiment.
Since 2010, I have participated in various exhibitions of Israeli artists. In 2019, my first solo exhibition took place in Jerusalem.
I draw inspiration from the works of other photographers and artists. I am extremely attracted to the works of Saul Leiter and Harry Gruyaert. Though their styles differ greatly, both share a willingness to experiment with color and composition, skillfully conveying the mood of street scenes with minimal means while creating almost abstract (Leiter) or surreal (Gruyaert) images.
Through my photography, I aim to invite my viewers into my unique world. I hope that through my work, you will be able to see the beauty in ordinary moments of life.
